Of all the mansions on Millionaire Row in Buffalo, New York, The Mansion on Delaware has always stood out to me.
I grew up admiring the building and hearing tales of its celebrity guests. The Mansion beckoned me every year when I walked down Delaware Avenue during the Allentown Art Festival. I had always wanted to stay at this hotel.
And finally, I was checking in.
The oversized wooden doors opened automatically as I walked up the front steps. I had just arrived and I was already impressed by the impeccable service of the hotel before even stepping inside.
Upon check in, the front desk attendant escorted me to my room. Along the way he acquainted me with the property and told me all about the amenities at The Mansion on Delaware. It was a short ride up the elevator until I arrived at a hallway full of doors.
“Miss Hammerschmidt, your room”, the front desk attendant gestured to the first door on my left. I had to glance around the room until I realized that he were talking to me.
I could sense that this was about to be an amazing staycation. Whether for a staycation or vacation, The Mansion on Delaware is a top-notch accommodation in Buffalo, NY.

The best time to experience this artistic neighborhood is during the Allentown Art Festival. There is no better way to celebrate the festival than to be able to step outside your hotel and be in the center of all the action.
Beyond the artistic flare, Allentown has a rich history. The hotel is part of a group of mansions located on Delaware Avenue referred to as Millionaire Row. All along Delaware Avenue are beautiful mansions from the gilded age. The Mansion was originally built for a grain elevator operator, Charles F Sternberg. The Rooms
My favorite part of staying at a hotel is the moment I walk into my room. The anticipation of what the room is going to look like excites me. My room at The Mansion on Delaware blew away all the expectations I had. The height of the ceilings in the guests rooms is incredible! No photo could adequately convey the height of the ceilings or showcase just how spacious the rooms felt.
The Mansion on Delaware has 28 guest rooms and suites. I was lucky enough to be staying in the Premium Grand room. Grand is the perfect word to describe this room. The ceilings were high with beautiful detail and the windows spanned an entire wall. The floor to ceiling windows in my room looked out to the garden below.
While the room is grand it was also comfortable. I could have stayed relaxing in this room all day with the comfortable bed and sitting area. Not to mention the whirlpool bath tub. It was the perfect place for my staycation.
The Cuisine
A complimentary European style continental breakfast is served in the salon. The breakfast is displayed on the billiards table turned buffet. My eyes were wide after seeing all the decadent food on display. However, the food was in perfect portions so I was able to eat a variety of cheese, stuffed peppers and fresh fruit. Everything was delicious!
If you would prefer a heartier American breakfast, you can order a full breakfast to eat in the salon or in your room.
The Amenities
The amenities of The Mansion on Delaware is what sets it apart. I have never stayed at a hotel where the staff was as accommodating as the staff at The Mansion on Delaware. The staff was on their toes and were able to acknowledge guests needs before being asked. This is due to their 24 hour butler service.
The 24 Hour Butler Service is there to accommodate your needs at any point in your stay. They do it all, from arranging plans to chauffeuring you around town.
I started my evening off with complimentary cocktails in the salon. Each guest received two complimentary cocktails with their stay. Beyond that, the boutique bar is an honor bar. If you get any drinks beyond your complimentary ones, you just write it in. As I was deciding on which wine to choose, the butler came over to explain each wine they had on selection.
I enjoyed my wine in the gardens, which is my favorite spot on property. The gardens acted as a quiet spot were I could enjoy the beauty of the Mansion on Delaware as well as the vibrant neighborhood it is in.
The butler service truly shined during my ride to dinner in the complimentary Land Rover chauffeur service. Our butler for the evening, Andre, was extremely charming and informative. Andre talked all about Buffalo and pointed out quite a few restaurants I have never been to. During your stay at the Mansion on Delaware, don’t hesitate to take the chauffeur service.
After spending the evening exploring Buffalo, I was beyond happy to return to my room at the Mansion on Delaware. Once I got to my room, I found chocolate covered strawberries waiting for me. The butler must have dropped them off while I was away.
