Montmartre is by far one of the most photo worthy areas in Paris. This area is known for its cobblestone roads, weaving all around Montmartre hill. The atmosphere here is of a Paris of yesteryear. There is a square where local artists paint cityscapes of the city of lights and a cafe culture that rivals that of any other area in Paris. Montmartre Photo Spots
Sacré-Coeur
The Sacré-Coeur is a popular tourist spot and is also one of the top Montrmartre photo spots. While this is such a photographed spots, there are plenty of ways to get creative with your Sacré-Coeur photos.
Photographing Sacré-Coeur from the front is the most iconic way to get the shot. But there are endless angles and perspectives to choose from. With the help of a wide-angle lens, we were able to capture the grandeur of Sacré-Coeur from standing directly in front of the cathedral.
Walk down the steps to get a view of the Sacré-Coeur from the grass. The grass and steps in front of the cathedral makes for a really beautiful photo. The grass area is massive. No matter the time of day, you are sure to find a clear area to take photos.
Place St-Pierre, at the base of Sacré-Coeur is an incredible Montmartre photo spot. Here, you can take photos with the Sacré-Coeur in the background. This is an ideal spot if you want to take portraits. There is a carousel at Place St-Pierre, which adds a unique element to your photos.
There is a set of stairs to the left of Sacré-Coeur, which makes a great spot to take a photo walking up the stairs.
Finally head to the back of the Sacré-Coeur. Sacré-Coeur is unlike any cathedral I have ever seen before. It is just a photogenic from any angle. There is no bad spot to take photos from which makes the photo opportunities endless.
Tip: Arrive early in the morning to photograph Sacré-Coeur without the crowds. We went at 7:00 a.m. and had the place to ourselves.
Marcel Bleustein Blanchet
One of my favorite spots to photograph Sacré-Coeur was from the Square Marcel Bleustein Blanchet, a park located behind the cathedral. This park provided a unique perspective of the cathedral. This is a Montmartre photo spot that I haven’t seen that frequently. An added perk is that this park should be relatively quiet no matter what time you visit, as it is off the radar for most tourists.
Rue du Chevalier-de-La-Barre
Rue du Chevalier-de-La-Barre is one of the most charming streets I have ever seen. This cobblestone street is lined with souvenir shops leading to the Sacré-Coeur. In the early morning, Rue du Chevalier-de-La-Barre makes a great Montmartre photo spot. However, keep in mind that in the afternoon this street is packed and very difficult to get a picture.
Montmartre Windmill
The Montmartre Windmill, Moulin de la Galette, is an iconic spot is the neighborhood and very photogenic. Windmills are a huge part of the history of this area, which makes it a great photo to take while exploring Montmartre. To get the perfect photo of Moulin de la Galette, walk up the street where it is framed by buildings.

Mur des Je t’aime, or the “Love Wall” is such a fun Montmartre photo spot. This wall displays the word “I love you” in over 250 languages. It makes a great backdrop for a photo.
The Sinking House
The Sinking House is actually an optic illusion, the house only appears to be sinking with the right angle. This has became one of the most instagrammable Paris spots. The Sinking House can be found at the lawn in front of the Sacré-Coeur. All you have to do is angle your camera so the house appears to be sinking.
Rue de l’Aubreuvoir
Rue de l’Aubreuvoir is one of the prettiest streets in Paris. To get a photo of this street, head to Buste de Dalida, a city square with this iconic view.
