Staying at the Renaissance Paris République Hotel was a dream I didn’t know I had. This was not my first time in Paris, this was not even my first time on this trip that I was in Paris. On my previous trips to Paris, I stayed on the outskirts of the city. Yet staying at the Renaissance Paris République Hotel, I no longer felt like I was looking in on this city, I felt like I was a part of it. This hotel gave me a sense of comfort I have never experienced at another hotel. I didn’t feel rushed and I didn’t feel the urge to leave. Every bit of this hotel made me feel like I was in Paris. And every moment I spent here added to my overall experience in Paris.

The Location
The Renaissance Paris République Hotel is located in the République neighborhood of Paris. The République area is less touristy, extremely hip yet still quintessentially Parisian. The hotel is close to the Place de la République, the Canal Saint-Martin and the Le Marais district, where you can find Place des Vosges. There are many hip restaurants, cafes and shops in République including the very cool Cafe République which is only steps away from the hotel.
I couldn’t think of an area that is more centrally located than République. République proved to be the perfect area to explore Paris for me. As this was my first trip back to Paris in a few years, I wanted to get an overview of the entire city. Most areas in Paris were about a 30 minute walk from the Renaissance Paris République Hotel including Notre Dame, Tuileries Garden, Rue Crémieux and Palais-Royal.
While a lot of tourist spots are within walking distance, the République metro station is only steps away from the hotel and grants access to the whole city. From the République metro, I was easily able to connect to the rest of the city including the Eiffel Tower and Arch de Triumph.
For any day trippers, the Gare du Nord train station is walking distance or a quick subway stop away. I arrived in Paris by train and departed from the airport, the Renaissance Paris République Hotel proved to have easy access for transit.
The Rooms
The rooms at the Renaissance Paris République Hotel were simply stunning. There are a variety of guest rooms available depending on your needs and budget. We stayed in one of the Artist Studio Suites, the junior suite. The room was spacious, comfortable and came with an incredible view. This room was the perfect spot to unwind after a day exploring Paris. The Artist Studio Suite has an extremely comfortable king featherbed as well as a sitting area. There is ample space to enjoy the complimentary Nespresso or indulge in 24/7 room service. After a day of exploring I found great comfort in the spacious bathroom in our suite, taking a long bath in the deep soaking tub.
The best part of the rooms at the Renaissance Paris République Hotel is the views. I took full advantage of the window nook overlooking the rooftop view of Paris. While the views vary from room to room, you are sure to have a beautiful view at this hotel.
The Cuisine
Dining at the Renaissance Paris République Hotel is a first class experience thanks to the Origin Restaurant. The Origin Restaurant is inspired by the egg in a concept of birth and origin. Many of the dishes use eggs in unique ways to create a unique dining experience.
Each morning I started off with breakfast at the Origin Restaurant. Each table is set with fresh bakeries served with a wonderful array of homemade jams, chocolate spread, maple syrup and melted caramel. I indulged in my fair share of croissants dipped in caramel. In addition, I enjoyed fried eggs, sauteed vegetables and a delicious fresh fruit smoothie daily.
I had the delight of experiencing dinner at the Origin Restaurant. I highly recommend dining at Origin for anyone visiting Paris, not just hotel guests. Dinner here was absolutely spectacular, French food with a twist. Hands down, this is one of the best meals I have ever had.
The staff did a wonderful job recommending dishes. Leah and I landed on different appetizers and deserts in order to try a variety of food. The appetizers arrived and looked too beautiful to eat. The mushroom espuma and escargot were savory. For our entree, we decided on the roast beef that is portioned for two. It came served in a cast iron roasting pot and its’ smoky aroma smelled almost as amazing as it tasted. Finally the deserts arrived, which were too marvelous to put into words. I couldn’t stop gushing between bites of the coffee with mini churros and vacherin with lemon. Chef Thierry Motsch has outdone herself with the dishes at Origin.
I made sure to stop at the Martin bar in the lounge on my last night at the Renaissance Paris République Hotel. The lounge is a great spot to grab an afternoon coffee or evening cocktail (both of which I did). The signature cocktails offered were too good to pass up.
Both Origin Restaurant and Martin Bar have outdoor seating on the terrace if you are visiting when the weather is warm.
The Amenities
Staying at the Renaissance Paris République Hotel is a luxury in itself. Yet, there are various amenities which makes this property even more luxurious. Aside from the restaurants, lounge spaces and luxurious rooms; there is also a spa and gym on property. Le Spa Sothys Paris République is a full service spa at the hotel. All the rooms and suites include spa access. The sensory area is open for use of the sauna, hammam and hot tub. There are additional spa services offered for purchase including facials and massages. Le Spa Sothys Paris République is the perfect way to unwind and relax during your trip to Paris.
Bonus
While not technically an amenity of the hotel, I couldn’t leave out the rooftop of the Renaissance Paris République Hotel. This rooftop is not your traditional rooftop terrace and its’ not even open to the public/guests. I was honored to have the chance to check out the rooftop for myself. The hotel manager took time to bring us up so we could see the sweeping views of Paris. We could see all of Paris including the Sacré-Cœur and Eiffel Tower. However this rooftop required a bit of climbing and is thus not safe for guests to visit unaccompanied. Perhaps you’ll have the chance to see the rooftop views for yourself.
